Movies are magic, which might explain why there are so many flicks with wizards, and sorcerers. Wise and powerful parental figures who help fill in plot holes with exposition, supply magical plot devices, or appear in the final act as a handy, ready-made deus ex machina. Let’s also nip the nerd debate in the bud: there isn’t any difference between a sorcerer and a wizard. (I’m talking to you @DarthMerlin.) Much the way a sub sandwich is a hero is a grinder, a sorcerer is a wizard is a warlock is a necromancer is a shaman. There’s no need to be gender specific either: a sorceress is a witch.
